3. Kunst-, Handwerker- und Genussmarkt im Steinbruch Kleinenbremen
This weekend, the quarry’s unique setting will be transformed into a lively marketplace that brings together arts and crafts, traditional crafts, and regional cuisine.
The event is organized by the Friends of the Visitor Mine, with support from the Kleinenbremen Heritage Association and the Visitor Mine itself.
A total of 47 exhibitors have signed up for the event, and their booth locations were assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
The market is divided into four themed areas:
In the arts and crafts area, exhibitors will present a diverse selection of handmade products, including horseshoe art, wood and amber objects, decorative items, embroidery, glasswork, jewelry, and stationery.
In the Crafts section , traditional trades are brought to life. Visitors can learn about blacksmithing, weaving, carpentry, stone carving, ceramics, indigo printing, and the production of soaps and mustard. The offerings are complemented by demonstrations that provide insights into the respective techniques.
The “Gourmet” section offers a wide selection of regional foods and beverages. These include, among other things, bratwurst, French fries, pot cakes, jams, wines, fresh bread from the Porta Mill, and coffee and cake from the country women’s association. Grilled suckling pig and products from Farmer Hanemann are also part of the lineup.
A special highlight is the falconry demonstrations, which take place twice on each of the two event days. During these flight shows, birds of prey showcase their skills and offer impressive insights into working with these animals.
In addition, guided tours of the Kleinenbremen visitor mine are offered, in both short and regular durations.
The market thus offers a varied weekend in a unique setting, combining crafts, regional products, and nature experiences, and is aimed at both families and interested visitors from the region and beyond.
