Historischer Marktplatz Rinteln

Market square
Rinteln - a city to touch and marvel at!
When you enter the historic market square in Rinteln for the first time, you can't help but be amazed: the closed ensemble of restored half-timbered houses has been preserved in its original form since the 13th century. The center of the former university town does not look like a museum at all, but is as lively as it was in the old days.

Locals and visitors fill the square, sit down in the numerous cafés, bistros and restaurants and enjoy the atmosphere between the magnificent Weser Renaissance buildings.

Everyone who visits Rinteln quickly realizes: people like living here!

The town's landmark, visible from afar, is the tower of St. Nikolai. The three-nave hall church, a mighty building, was first mentioned in 1238. Yesterday, as today, it is the focal point of the lively town and welcomes you from afar.
