Tour of the places where the prisoners of the satellite camps of Neuengamme concentration camp lived and worked at Porta Westfalica

It ends at the memorial at the Grüner Markt in Hausberge. The forecourt of the former Dachs 1 underground mine will be visited, but unfortunately it is not possible to enter the mine itself as part of the tour. Participants should be sure-footed on hiking trails, wear appropriate clothing and have good footwear.

During the tour, which lasts around one and a half to two hours, the guides at the memorial will show the various traces of the concentration camps and armaments relocations in the Barkhausen and Hausberge area. At the historical sites, participants receive in-depth information about the prisoners of three satellite camps, who were forced to work in the tunnels at Porta Westfalica under inhumane conditions and whose everyday life in the camps was characterized by hunger, disease and violence. Before and after the tour, there is the opportunity to visit the outdoor area of the "No light at the end of the tunnel" exhibition; the container area opens after the tour.
