Friedrichshagen, like other "Friedrichsdörfer" in the region, was founded by Landgrave Friedrich II between 1770 and 1780. Friedrichshagen is located south of the town center at the foot of the foothills of the Lipper Bergland and borders directly on the forests of the Hessisch Oldendorfer Wesertal Süd nature reserve, from where hikes into the Lippische Bergland can be undertaken. The starting point for this route is the "Friedrichshagen" parking lot, where there is a refuge, a viewpoint and a playground. (Source: http://www.hessisch-oldendorf.eu)
