This varied circular route is a search for traces around Hämelschenburg and the Emmer river, with historic buildings and magnificent views to discover.

The tour begins at Hämelschenburg Castle, one of the most important cultural monuments in Germany. With its art collections, gardens, farm buildings, mill, church and castle, it is considered one of the most beautiful Renaissance complexes in Germany.

The hiking tour then runs through a beech forest to Amelgatzen, from there through the Emmer valley, through meadows and alluvial forests back to the starting point at Hämelschenburg Castle. Take part in a guided tour of the castle, which is still inhabited today, and fortify yourself with  delicious coffee and cake in the castle café.
