8 stages lead along the beautiful Weser from Hann. Münden in the south to Cuxhaven in the north. In the north, there is an alternative last stage via the Butjadingen peninsula to Eckwarderhörne. Large parts of the Weser Cycle Route run as a main route and respective alternatives on both sides of the river. The Weser Cycle Route runs over 520 km from the source of the Weser – the confluence of the Fulda and Werra rivers in Hann. Münden – to Cuxhaven on the North Sea. 8 stages are recommended, but depending on muscle strength and endurance, the route can be divided into more or fewer stages, entirely as you wish. Starting from Hann. Münden, the section in the Weserbergland passes through the towns of Bad Karlshafen, Beverungen, Höxter, Holzminden, Bodenwerder, Emmerthal, Hameln, and Rinteln. Continuing along the Weser, the Weser Cycle Route goes past the spa town of Bad Oeynhausen and Minden, before the Mittelweser region with Petershagen, Nienburg, Hoya, and Verden can be discovered on the cycle route. Via Bremen, Elsfleth, Brake, Nordenham, and Bremerhaven, the cycle route reaches its endpoint, the Kugelbake in Cuxhaven.

- Getting thereBy train to Hann. Münden or by car via the A7 / A44 / A38 to Hann. Münden; via the A2/A30 to Bad Oeynhausen. Bremen, Bremerhaven, and Cuxhaven can be reached via the A1 and A27. The motorways do not run along the Weser; all other locations are accessible via federal and country roads.ParkingThere are many public unguarded parking spaces available also for longer parking times. Guarded parking spaces can be inquired about at hotels but are usually only available to hotel guests.Public transportationStations are located in Hann. Münden, Bodenfelde, Bad Karlshafen, Höxter, Holzminden, Emmerthal, Hameln, Rinteln, Porta Westfalica, Bad Oeynhausen, Minden, Nienburg, Eystrup, Dörverden, Verden, Langwedel, Etelsen, Baden, Achim, Kirchweyhe, Dreye, Bremen, Berne, Elsfleth, Brake, Nordenham, Bremerhaven, Wremen, Dorum, Nordholz, and Cuxhaven. The railway line does not run continuously in the Weser valley; usually, connections in Hannover and Göttingen are needed for transfer to the starting point. The nearest long-distance station of Deutsche Bahn to the starting point is Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe. From here, you can also start your cycling tour via the Fulda cycle route and meet the Weser Cycle Route after just under 31 km in Hann. Münden.
