The Höllenbach waterfall at the Höllenmühle mill in Langenfeld is one of the highlights of the Hohenstein region in the Süntel and is the only natural one in Lower Saxony. The waterfalls in the Harz Mountains, on the other hand, were created by man. It lies at an altitude of 298 meters above sea level. The water of the Höllenbach stream plunges 15 meters into the depths here. Until 1922, the Höllenbach provided energy for the Höllenmühle mill, which was built in 1782. Today, only the picturesque mill pond in front of the building is a reminder of this "eventful" past. After a few meters along the forest path, you reach the viewing platform of the Langenfeld waterfall. Since the opening of the Schillat cave, the place has become increasingly popular, but is still considered an "insider tip" in the middle of one of the most beautiful hiking areas in northern Germany.
